MESSAGE for SUNDAY 7 MARCH

CLEARING OUT TIME

John chapter 12 verses 13  25

In our reading from John’s gospel we see an angry Jesus, and it is somewhat refreshing, since we are so used to thinking of Jesus as “gentle Jesus, meek and mild” as the hymn describes him.

TAKE UP YOUR CROSS

Mark 8 verses 31 - 38

Jesus is clear. To be his disciples, to enter the Kingdom of God, we must deny ourselves and pick up our crosses, and follow him. So, what is the cross we are called to bear?

“GIFTS OF THE WISE MEN”

Matthew 2 verses 1 – 12

The gift of time is one of the most important things we can give to Jesus. Without the freedom to meet together now, some realise just how much meeting with brothers and sisters on Sundays means to individuals, but more importantly tells Jesus how much He means to you.

MESSAGE for SUNDAY 3 JANUARY

“GOD IS WITH US IN THE ORDINARY”

John chapter 2 verses 1 - 12

Through this year, I hope we will remember the truth that we are never alone. That we trust in the presence and power of God in the ordinary things of life. If it is a concern to us, you can rest assured that it is worth taking our concerns in prayer to Him. Nothing is too trivial.

WE WANT TO SEE JESUS

John 12 verses 20-33

In the floods, in the storms, in the pandemic, in the lockdowns, in the suffering and loss, “where is God?” has often been asked. He is there in the midst of it all. He is there in the many acts of love and community spirit.

HALLMARKS OF THE MASTER

John 20 verses 24 - 31

Look at those who have the hallmark of Christ upon them, those who walk in light and live by the love of their master, and learn from them. Look for the hallmarks and pray that they may be seen in you, that God might purify you and place his seal of salvation upon you.
